The G Cloud Framework helps the public-sector purchase cloud technology and support that meets the standards required from local authorities and the wider public sector. With a strong focus on how secure the services are and where they store their data, buying cloud services through this framework is faster and cheaper than entering into individual procurement contracts.
How are Suppliers Approved?
Suppliers are legally required to meet a set of minimum standards. Only those suppliers who state that they meet these minimum standards in the supplier declaration are considered for a place on a framework (agreement between government and suppliers).

There are currently over 20,000 cloud services on the Digital Market Place, all of which are off-the-shelf services and ready for purchase.
When did G Cloud come into place?
From May 2018, the Digital Market Place opened for G Cloud 10 approved companies, superseding G Cloud 9. All previous suppliers had to reapply in order to be accepted on the G Cloud 10 Digital Market Place.
